Mining Locations of Amber

The famous mining locations of amber include the Baltic amber mine in Kaliningrad, Russia. But Baltic amber can also be found in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, and sometimes washes ashore in Norway, Denmark, and England. The older fossil resins are from deep mines in the hillsides, where extractions can be dangerous. The insect inclusions in a Dominican amber are fairly abundant with higher clarity; although it is uncommon. Another location is in Colombia where amber originated but it is always confused with the little distinctions found in copal. But still the largest deposits of amber are found at the shores of the Baltic Sea.
